What is the ethnic group of Northeast Asia?

What is the ethnic group of Northeast Asia?
Northern China, Korea, and Japan all appear to be of the same ethnicity as opposed to Southeast Asia. Whenever I try to look it up online I just get answers that are lingo-political, such as Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc. Take away the borders and these are all the same people right?

East Asian
2 :
they don't look the same at all There's the Altaic Asian(Korean and Japanese) and then there's the Silotic(Chinese. They're very different in looks and culture
3 :
I think many folks would tell you that they see differences in the physical appearance of the three populations, suggesting that the groups are not the same. Indeed, it seems as though the three (Chinese, Korean, and Japanese) do have different ancient ethnic roots, as follows: Japanese - descended from the Jomon (native to Japan) and Yayoi (which may include some Korean or Chinese blood) Chinese (Han) - descended from the Huaxia (from around the Hwang Ho/Yellow River) Korean - descended from Altaic-Siberians (similar to Turkic and Mongolian groups) It's not just lingo-political. And, needless to say, the groups see their own cultures as very distinct from one another.
4 :
Hans are probably the majority.
5 :
Korean and Japanese are Altaic from Middle Asia. Also, linguistically, Korean and Japanese have almost same grammar structure even though they have own characters. Besides, Chinese are totally different from them. eg: Korean, Japanese = Subject + Object + Verb, Chinese = Subject + Verb + Object. - Siberian, Manchurian, Mongolian, Korean, Japanese belong to the Altaic group. - Chinese, Tibetan, Thailander, Vietnamese, Myamese and other south east Asians belong to the same ethnic/linguistic group.

Where can I find out about the evolutionary history of the people of Asia?

Where can I find out about the evolutionary history of the people of Asia?
I am interested in finding out more about the evolutionary history of the people of Asia, mainly the people of China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and the people of the Philippines. What is the evolutionary history of these people? Do they share common ancestors? Why did they evolve to have the physical features they have? Etc. Any credible resources would be good.

Hi, I travel around South East Asia reguarly . I don't know if you have any particular places in mind that you want to go, but if you are interested in areas like Singapore, Malaysia, Phillipines, Thailiand, Indonesia, Macau etc..... check out the website of "Air Asia". They are owned by Malaysian Airlines, and seem to be very professional and safe. I have flown from Kuala Lumpar (Malaysia) to Singapore for US $3 + tax and K.L to Manila for $20 + tax. They also fly to Beijing and Shanghai. It's a budget airline, so you have to purchase food and drink onboard if you want them (no freebies), but the flights are short and the aircraft very good. I am not aware of Japan having budget airlines unfortunately, I know China does, but I recommend researching their safety history if you are considering booking a flight with them.

You can also try checking out another budget airline, Tiger Airways - you can get really cheap tickets, especially in the low seasons. That airline should get you around popular destinations around asia and they are pretty reliable as well. My family flew from Saigon to Singapore and return for around $100 inclusive of taxes (each person) about 3 months ago, and it would be even cheaper now.
3 :
Charges are in Singapore dollars (they are having a <$500 round trip from Sg to Tokyo now) http://www.airfares.com.sg/ www.jetstar.com prices start as low as $23 per one way from Singapore to Vietnam Ho Chi Minh.
