Is splitting Asia in half in a story disrespectful to Asians?
I wrote a story and am still working on it. There are 8 or so land guardians and there are two for Asia and there is northern Asia and southern Asia. Will it be disrespectful to the asians if they read that asia was split in half. But in my story it tells the reason why it is.

No. If your story makes internally consistent sense, then it will be fine. If it is trite, then people might complain, but that would be more of a story failure issue

Asia is already split into many different countries. There are stories where people destroy the Earth. I've never heard of anyone being too seriously upset about that. This is fiction so I don't think there's much chance of offense here. There may be countries where the political implications of any fictional work about the region might get it banned, but that's not something you need to worry about as an author unless you're targeting the book specifically for sale in such a country. Usually the topic would have to be specific to that country's political history or critical of the government. An example would be.. .if you wrote a novel about the demonstrations in Tienanmen square and tried to sell it in People's Republic of China.

No, because if it's based on facts and research, it's fine.
