How to find nonspecific cheap flights to southeast asia?
The sites I've been on require me to choose a country and time i'd want to go but my idea of backpacking through southeast Asia is very unplanned. I'd like to just get the cheapest ticket in any one of the countries and then travel around wherever I'd like to go. How do I find inexpensive airline tickets this way without being specific when and where?

Try to look on specific airlines, like Cathay pacific, or china airlines. Something that has lots of the destinations you'd like to go to. Then, you can either try a one way flight to your destination, then once you feel like you only need a couple more days in that place, get back online and try to get another nonstop flight. You can also go online, and there should be some sort of "multiple destinations" option where you can choose how long you want to be in the places, and you'll have a flight to each place. Hope this helps a little, sorry I don't know more!

It's probably best to choose one city to fly in and out of and an airline and ticket that allows you to change your return date for a nominal fee if you need to change it. Airlines like Cathay Pacific have an All-Asia pass that allows travel for a limited number of days, but does require you to reserve all your flights. Budget airlines like Air Asia have very good prices for flights within SE Asia. Cities like Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong are major hubs that will normally have good prices to fly in and out of.
